FAQs After Cosmetic Surgery

Congratulations on achieving your transformation through the cosmetic surgery you chose. Well done!

After thorough discussions with your surgeon and patient coordinator before your procedure, it’s natural for post-operative questions to arise. Rest assured, this is completely normal.

We will provide personalized postoperative instructions tailored to your specific situation. Remember, we are here to support you around the clock, ready to address any concerns you may have, even if you need clarification multiple times on the same issue. We’ve got you covered!

Below are common questions that patients ask after surgery:

When can I shower after surgery?
The timing for showering depends on your surgery and individual circumstances. We recommend refraining from showering until you receive clearance, typically at your first post-operative appointment.

Please avoid baths, swimming pools, hot tubs, or any full immersion in water until we give approval. This clearance may take several weeks or even a month after surgery.

Why do I have more swelling on one side of my body?
It’s normal to experience asymmetry in swelling during the early stages of recovery. This concern often arises after breast procedures like breast augmentation, but it can happen after other surgeries such as liposuction or Brazilian butt lift (BBL).

Each part of your body heals at its own pace. It’s common for one breast or buttock to appear more swollen initially. As your body heals, symmetry will gradually improve.

Will taking codeine help me sleep better?
Codeine is primarily used to manage pain. If you choose to use codeine-based medication before bedtime, its purpose should be to ensure your comfort during rest, not as a sleep aid.

It’s normal to experience disrupted sleep in the first night or days after surgery. Avoid daytime naps to help regulate your sleep schedule. While rest is important, excessive daytime sleep can interfere with nighttime sleep patterns, especially if you’re not used to napping regularly.
